The park covers an area of 104 sq. km. and offers great panoramic views of hills, valleys, lakes and urban landscapes. The forest consists of South Indian moist deciduous and semi-evergreen trees.SGNP has a rich diversity of flora and fauna, with more than 1100 species of plants, 250 species of birds, 40 mammalian species, 150 species of butterflies and more, making it a biodiversity hotspot as well as a readily accessible natural space for hands-on ecological education.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; color: #000000;\"><strong>Manpada Forest Trail:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; color: #000000;\">The Manpada Trail is located in the Thane district in the eastern part of Sanjay Gandhi National Park. It is a most unique haven for biodiversity and with the advent of the monsoon, the forest is a sight not to be missed!
